This course aims to provide a true to life penetration test experience which focuses on relaying and teaching the soft-skills of consultancy rather than the technical concepts. Students undertaking this course should already be familiar with the technical aspects of penetration testing, such as vulnerabilities and exploiting them – though unfamiliarity with certain vulnerabilities will not negatively impact the course.
During this mock penetration test, you will be guided through the consultancy process. Interface with the “customer”, lead conversations and manage expectations. For each client-facing step you’ll be given a brief on what to expect and how to prepare, you’ll have the conversation and then you and the instructor can have a conversation on how it went and provide feedback. This course is designed to help current penetration testers improve their client-facing consultancy skills and to enable people looking to break into the industry that elusive skill that interviewers look for in junior candidates, how to talk to clients.
