Hi, Welcome back!

It's not everyday that I leave a LinkedIn review for anyone, let alone one of my lecturer's but in this instance I feel it's merited.
Dr McCarthy led my Cyber Security cohort recently (Q3 2022) on QA Higher Education's Cyber Security module, which is clearly a topic he knows very well. This module was examination based. As a student, I faced a dual disadvantage of an exam (that I despise) and a topic I've never really been all that interested in. I was expecting to get a low pass or even a failure within the exam but pulled off a high pass./BR>
Whilst I won't attribute that score to a singular factor, Dr McCarthy's tutelage was one of the most important variables in getting that score. He broke down complicated security concepts into digestible learning experiences and (where appropriate) drew on his career experience to demonstrate his teachings. The materials over a ten week stretch were fairly diverse. Dr McCarthy proved knowledgeable in all of them.
As a personality, he led remove sessions very well and involved all of his students thus ensuring an eclectic, wide range of opinion, which I personally feel worked better for all students. In closing, whilst Dr McCarthy's career professional achievements speak for themselves, I hope this short review demonstrates that his ability to step into the world of academia is very well established.
