Hi, I’m Scott, a cybersecurity instructor with a career rooted in curiosity, innovation, and a relentless drive to understand the complexities of digital security. My journey began in my teenage years, when I first explored bypassing web content filters and experimenting with phreaking—like using a Psion Revo to make free phone calls. These early experiences ignited a lifelong passion for cybersecurity, setting me on a path to a fulfilling career in the field.
After a brief time in office work, I sought a more dynamic and challenging role, which led me to join the British Army as an Electronic Warfare Systems Operator. In this role, I specialized in compromising the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enemy communications, sharpening my technical and analytical skills in high-pressure environments. While stationed in Cyprus, I took on the rewarding task of mentoring two emerging cyber capabilities, further solidifying my expertise in practical, real-world cybersecurity operations.
Transitioning to a civilian role, I joined a leading UK training provider, where I developed and delivered courses on topics such as infrastructure and web application security, WiFi security, and cloud security. I also had the privilege of designing and managing two government cyber competitions, crafting complex, engaging challenges to help participants deepen their skills.
My passion for teaching has taken me to prestigious conferences such as Blackhat, Nullcon, Brucon, and Bsides, where I’ve had the opportunity to share my knowledge with global audiences. Today, as a freelance cybersecurity instructor, I draw on my diverse background to deliver courses that blend real-world experience with cutting-edge practices.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your expertise, I’m excited to help you navigate the ever-evolving world of cybersecurity. Let’s tackle it together!
